Not Just Another Holiday

This Memorial Day, please stop and say a prayer for our soldiers, both near and far. Remember that all gave some, but some gave all. As I begin to think about these brave families, I realize that they must face their sorrow every anniversary of their loved one's death, every birthday, every Thanksgiving, every Christmas, every Veteran's Day and

i think it's only been since 9/11 that i have really understood and celebrated memorial day. i'm afraid most of our country did celebrate it in the year or two after 9/11, but are starting to forget.....

I agree.....to most people its simply a day off from work. I do think the families of military have a new appreciation for it though. I, too, was one of the masses who simply saw it as a 3 day weekend....until my son left for the war. Thank you for thinking about what it really means.
