Costuming: 14th c. Italian Thoughts

I admit that since switching personae, I've been kind of "coasting" as far as clothing goes. I've been wearing lace-front fitted dresses, and hoods, and the Standard SCAdian 14th Century accouterments. So it's not really wrong, per se, but it's not Imigla's Clothing yet ( Read more... )

If you happen to know of any 14th c. manuscripts that are specifically Italian, that would be awesome. I've mostly been looking at paintings so far, and would love some extra visual sources.

ETA: Specifically manuscripts BESIDES the various Tacuinum Sanitatis editions out there. I've already got quite a few of those earmarked.

I look forward to hearing how the undergarments work. I don't have any other thoughts besides this is a great list! I enjoy reading about progression and helps me not feel so alone in my own development.

Have you made one of the Bathhouse Babe style undergarments? I have a dust-gathering pattern in my closet that I mean to keep getting around to, and I am curious to know if you have wisdom on the subject.

I haven't yet, but I definitely have Ideas.
I also really want to make a Lengberg bra just for fun, but I don't think it'll give the right shape for what I'm doing.

Mine is currently filed under "moderately necessary winter season projects" - I have hopes.

(I kind of also want to make one of those bras for fun and just run around in it...)
