Much to my chagrin. I don't know how but nearly everyone in my building knows I'm American. The American in the building.
I used to think I was obvious because of my tattoos and many earrings (on a babushka, weird) but now I know it's more than Russians noticing anything, which doesn't generally happen.

Fast forward a month and I was called out as the "superstar customer" at Universam, our corner market. It made me kind of sad that I'll no longer go there as Nikol and I just moved to a flat twice as big on the other side of town.
