Makes me wonder where my clothes fit in. My costumes would all fit in functional because they were created for a purpose. Also my work clothes would be functional

I would disagree with this posit.

I would term costumes that were made specifically to wear for events, masquerades or other events, as for pleasure or fashion, with some overlap into functional if they could be worn day to day.

I think we disagree on the definition of functional in this case. :)
