Counter Culture Festival
What: Bands, beer, and a freak show; plus artwork, comics, and indie fashion for sale.

It sounds pretty interesting. I wonder what kind of "freak" show though... real bird-men from the jungles of South America or pierced people with bifurcated tongues?

but this looks cool for the summer:

The Smithsonian Folklife Festival will celebrate Northern Ireland and the Mekong River Basin at its 41st summer on the Mall.

The festival, held in over 10 days in June and July, will also feature Jamestown, Va., and explore how its contemporary culture is an amalgam of the cultures of the English, the African slaves and the Native Americans who populated the region 400 years ago.
