I, as an ST, tend to do the same myself. And I'm as blond as they come and so are most of the women I've dated. I think it has to do with the popular connotations to hair colour; dark hair being the brooding and mysterious aspects - blond hair being the lively, open and - somewhat - dimwitted aspects of human behaviour and disposition.

But it's merely a guess.

Huh. I don't know that I've ever played a character that was fair-haired.

Unless grey counts.

I may be misremembering (I wasn't actually in the game), but didn't your Exalted character Captola have blonde hair? If I correctly recall the HTK pic you used for her, she was blonde.
