On Sunday February 20th, writer/journalist Dr. Hunter S. Thompson commited suicide in his Aspen home. As far as I can tell, his wife went out for a bit and Dr. Thompson shot himself while she was gone. This is a great loss for anyone who has seen Fear and loathing, or has read any of his numerous books, or read his article on espn.com. I for one

Hunter S. Thompson was also one of the few public figures that spoke candidly about the situation that the world faces in light of American imperialism. He seemed to have no hesitation in telling it like it is (was).

Speculation abounds.
