I've really lost all respect for her because she did that. I don't think we should clone things for reasons like that, to continue breeding them, or to have another superior horse. Cloning should be used only in the scientific realm to research diseases.

The fact that she had him cloned makes me completely sick.

I don't know if Scamper's lines were very special, but he certainly made the name for himself, which is all that matters a lot of times. She says she wants to "continue his lines" but to me, all I see is, "get more high stud fees."
Sorry, cloning is just an issue that I really hate, particularly when it starts to get into the horse world.

I think cloning is a tricky situation. There are moral and religious objections to it and scientific views for it. I'm not really sure how I feel. Like, cloning for medical reasons (tissue, organs, etc.) is amazing and I think that it would be very advantegous to the human race. Cloning animals is different. I don't see how the human race will benefit from having replicated animals ( ... )

Don't worry about being cranky. You weren't. I'm just excited to have someone to discuss this with. On any other forums or communities this has been posted on, no one really wants to have a real discussion ( ... )

When I heard Scamper was cloned I couldn't believe that Charmayne would do that! They have cloned horses before and all they have had is complications. I'm not sure if Scamper's bloodlines were anything to brag about. I read Charmayne's book and it said that he was sold several times before a guy bought him who owned a feelot who eventually sold him to Charmayne. I can understand that Charmayne would want to have another Scamper since he is so old but he will never be Scamper. In my opinion, that was a horrible thing to do. But then again, thats what I think.
