i'm as captivated by this story as i can be with anything celebrity-related. which isn't very much, but still. i watched juno and was like "whatever, they're just gonna break up." then i see this story, and i'm like "awwwww, how cute!!" i think the difference resides in the fact that there's really no innocence or naivety in the sarkozy/bruni ( Read more... )

See, unlike Aimee Mann, I don't "look past the joy to the end," so I loved Juno and didn't see any sort of sad ending. I just took it for what it was. I guess I see what you're talking about, re: Sarzoky and Bruni, but I find it more refreshing and level-headed than "romantic." (I'm not sure I find the former at least somewhat incompatible with the latter. It's possible.)
