I'm an artist.
Whether I want the title or not I have it.

I produce art and as a result sometimes people don't get it. Or as I'm going to present, they may get it, but simply don't give a shit.

There was an Open Projector Night at the Hammer Museum, a very cool museum right by campus. Anyone could submit and anything could be submitted.

you definitely are an artist. i admire your hard work and perseverance with your projects, and i cannot wait to see ari and stone come to fruition.

That's real tough, man. While I can't say I've been in a similar situation with my work, I do know what that feels like, and it's a hard knock to one's esteem. It's a shame it had to happen with Ari & Stone, a series that has so much of your own blood/sweat/tears/sanity/soul, it might as well be an episodic projection of you (I mean that as a compliment).

Know this, Michael: Whether your webseries lands you and Jirard a one-way ticket on the Gweat Twain to Swuccessville or you can't get anyone beyond your own friends to pay attention, it was not a waste of time. I can tell that you have already gained a lot of experience and knowledge from Season 1, and that is definitely worth more than the time and effort you put in to get where you are today.

And by the way, a "people's choice" forum with live-voting is guaranteed to be a mess. Don't even think about getting hung-up because the audience that bypassed your submission to view their own stuff just happened to be filmmakers. That isn't a barometer of artistic talent and you know ( ... )
