More ideas at this point. Australia isn't for the long term, that's for sure, the question though is will the next step be the US, the UK or back to New Zealand...

There are better places than Melbourne. Once you get past the distance it's really a fairly generic big city. I don't like the flatness, dryness and sprawl.

Yes, generic is the word for it. Nothing particularly notable. Sydney would be too if it wasn't for the harbour.

And agreed, sprawl is getting bad and I'm a bit over the hot weather at present too. Sleep was difficult last night.
