I like watching brilliant musicians screw up occasionally. Whenever it happens, I'm reminded that they are in fact human, and not some godlike musical force created for my own amusement. Then I'm more in awe of the times they get it so right. Joanna Newsom played thousands of notes, and messed up about 4 times, which is a pretty amazing percentage

so, i saw joanna newsom live and free in madison last year, and there were lots more terrible parts about that show, and i wanted you to be happy that you didn't have to wait for them to start an hour late and be trampled by a stampeed of angry hipsters, although there was an accordion and a saw. I'm jealous that you saw her with an orchestra!
