Okay, so that's what I didn't need.

There I am, nicely plotting along my fic idea for Nano. It's a good idea especially formulated to make it as easy as possible to hit 50,000.

When along comes the first inklings of an original plot idea. With scenes and everything.

Why not work on both? The goal is 50K words, not necessarily to complete something, so if you happen to hit a wall with Project #1, maybe working on Project #2 will help you break through it.
