Yeah... so I'm now paranoid about getting into college - yes I know it's too early, but the thing is my grades aren't too hot right now and I just feel so stupid compared to everyone at HB. The thing is, Lauren... YOU'RE TAKING ALL HONORS CLASSES! I'm in a similar position as you: I did fine freshman year, and now I realize how hard work can be. I'm not at all satisfied with my grades either, but that should be impetus to strive harder. I know it's going to be hard, and you might hit a few brick walls, but you can do it! Just have a little self confidence and try to retain some semblance of a positive outlook, and I know you can do it! And, hey, we can do it together. If you're really having breakdown after breakdown every night and KNOW you can't do it (meaning you are FAILING THE CLASS, not just getting a grade you aren't satisfied with), you might consider dropping down to regular classes. You're at the best of the best. It's supposed to be hard. You aren't supposed to get an A in the beginning of the year, or even in the middle of the year. You need to work hard, and it's awful. I know. I'm in your classes. I feel like I'm struggling so hard and just barely hanging on, but believe in yourself and you WILL make it! ( ... )

Laureno, after your vigorous schedule 1st quarter it's only understandable that things look really stressful and your grades look really bad. Don't freak out!!! Just worak hard, and you'll be fine!
If math, history, other things are confusing, I suggest just sitting there and figuring out all the tough spots that are driving you crazy or that need to be improved on. It takes a lot of time, but it works because then you have a base of knowledge to build on. If you don't get the fundamental stuff (especially in math) you're screwed later on. At least that's what I've found.
Also, talk to teachers!! (Yes, really. It does help. Ish.)
And Lauren. YOU ARE NOT STUPID. Maggie's right. You are in all honors! And to be honest, there are some really stupid people at HB. Really. And you're not one of them.

Thanks guys... you make me feel better! :D although this is perhaps a week after I had my rant and rave... but ya know- it shows that I have great friends :) and yeah I do need to work harder, all in good time... it's getting better. So yes... I have to say, Katie and Allison did make up "Laureno" and Maggie.... your long-winded comment was quite insightful and helpful :) Love you all.
