For some time now I have been staunchly resisting the gumboot/galoshes/wellingtons trend. For one thing, Melbourne is so fucking dry right now there's really no need for gumboots. The substitute was a Chinese woman teaching Japanese. There was a suggestion that a kid didn't like her because of her nationality and the other kids said that it wouldn't matter where she was from, she sucked.

As for the kids: gold. Nice to know that even though iPods are cool, CDs are still cool too. And a kid with a cool girlfriend at age 10-12? Man...I was way behind the curve. Or do they just grow up so fast nowadays?

i wouldn't really call it a boyfriend though. at the time i thought it was all serious but you look back and realise it was just a learning experiance with the opposite sex. lol. we didn't even kiss properly! it was very innocent.

if its innocent i think its fine but if it was much more i might be a bit worried about kids these days...i just dont think any 12 year old has the maturity to deal with an actual 'relationship'
