And I just got to pry Freya's jaws off of my parents' dog's face in the middle of dinner. Now they are on their way to the vet to see if any stitches are required ( Read more... )

If you wouldn't coddle her so much, she wouldn't feel she had the right to tell anyone what she can or can't have...

Can you get your folks to stop feeding from the table? Our dogs blow up at each other occasionally, and it's usually because of unfair food privileges. We avoid feeding them from the table, and they're not allowed in the kitchen while there's food prep underway, and that seems to smooth everything out.
Sorry things are rocky. That's a tough situation to be in.

Now that one of the dogs has stitches, we're segregating them completely.

I think that really the only thing they were fighting over is toys and food, and they mostly got over the toy thing. I suspect that as long as my folks didn't feed Maggie at the table, everything would go fine.

They don't want to risk it though, so now the dogs look longingly at each other through glass doors.
