Over the weekend I learned that you can still get down to Vanilla Ice

Over the weekend my neighbors held a backyard wedding for a friend of theirs. They’ve been planning it for months and have been decorating since last Monday. What’s my part in this you ask? i dont think a wedding in a decent size backyard is shitty :)

I totally agree.

My grandparents were married just before WWII. My grandpa wore his army uniform and my grandma wore her Sunday dress and she looked so beautiful. William and I got married in a courtroom with a preacher I'm actually friends with, haha. We'll have a ceremony later on, but even then I don't want anything huge, either. He keeps bugging me about a ring, but I really don't even wear them ...

You and my elle (above poster) are probably the only two chicas on LJ that I felt wouldn't care that much. Notice how only the two of you replied haha. Everyone else is probably going "that basic is crazy, no wonder he's single!"

I would prefer a simple wedding to an extravagant one. While my friends want to get away from family and having a wedding in some tropical place like Hawaii... I can't imagine how more wonderful it would be to just have it at home where I can have all my loved ones around me.

But seriously, I pretty much agree. Who needs to go bankrupt on extravagance? On the other hand, if you're of the type who CAN afford it, more power to ya!
