why we'll fail.

the reason, i think we'll fail as a generation, is the following:

just now, i was reading an article, here about the bandwidth of the internet clogging up and making the internet slow as soon as 2010. my first reaction upon reading that was to say aloud "uh oh, better use it all up now, then ( Read more... )

another thing, although off topic, is this american economy thing. i find it interesting that now that america is starting to lose it's strength economically, the rest of the world is actually trying to kick them while they're down.

i wonder why that is happening.

what i find interesting, is that 20 year ago, this problem would not have even raised a hair.

I don't think that's true. It's not that we're just trying to overcompensate because we'll run out. Maybe that instinct lasts for like... two seconds? It's just that we need gas to go everywhere. In a place like Brampton or Caledon I mean. We're just living like retards, that's all. Each family doesn't need to have one television or computer really, let alone three each.

It's so weird talking about running out of power or conserving energy without even trying to limit our energy use. I mean, we started using it like this because we didn't know better, and we were lazy, and we're lucky. Now, to save the world, we need some miracle energy maker that helps or doesn't harm the planet? Well guess what? It doesn't exist!

It's easier, and much more responsible, to curb our energy use. But that's harder, so fuck that, apparently.

yep. people don't want to actually solve the problem, they want some scientist to find a workaround. as i type this on my wireless keyboard looking at my lcd monitor and text while listening to my mp3 player..

yeah that's true, people aren't exactly stockpiling up on oil. but, i think that the fears of the potential risk of having to stockpile it, are what is really starting to drive gas prices through the roof.

and a devil's advocate idea in regards to energy consumption vs harming the planet... as humans, can we even really grasp the planet and what it is capable of? we can barely understand ourselves, let alone this giant thing we're all supposedly ruining. i find it interesting because as human beings, we haven't been on this planet nearly long enough to even have history of what the earth does and doesn't do. all we have is theories.

yes, i understand that technologically, humans will create a way to save the precious internet, however, the real problem is that it's not changing or fixing anything, it's just eating up more and more.

and indeed Mr. Stephens, necessity is the mother of invention. however, consumption is the father of death.

do you think there is no electric car because human beings don't really need oil, and the people who invested in it are trying to force us into thinking we do?
