Any thoughts on what you're planning to do with the finished product of the tiled engine?

My roommate (Zack!) wants to make a game where you build a little settlement in an overhead world, then go fight monsters in a 2D sidescroller world. He says it's going to take the better parts of Castlevania and Actraiser, then put them together.

Sounds pretty interesting man. I asked because a friend of mine is currently building a tile engine for a pet project we're working on as well. You'll have to let me know when you guys are done so I can give it a look.
