I have five disk drives in my computer. One of them is the boot volume. How should I arrange the others? Striped? Mirrored? Spanned?

Should I put each one in its own partition and put files that start with the letter J only on one disk?

RAID 5, with a hot spare.

Time told a tale, and the tale was to not use RAID 5. Two of the disks died within a couple weeks of each other! I am running them all as separate disks now.
