3D movie.

So... after having seen Coraline in 'old-fashioned' 2D format I decided to go out again and see it in 3D. The effects were really amazing, but at least for me, I can't tell if it's 'wow, look at this' or if it truly forwards the film. I've seen a few movies with this new 3D effect. When they first were doing it...they re-released Nightmare Before Christmas in certain theaters and I saw it. Then more recently I saw Bolt in 3D and I saw My Bloody Valentine in 3D. My Bloody Valentine would have honestly sucked had it not been in 3D. It was very effective because it relied on startling the audience and nothing is more startling than a pickaxe through a head that propels the eye out toward the audience. Thanks for the input and no biggie on the length. Yeah, kinda wondered there if the newness was part of the distraction. After some thought I think maybe this version of 3D might have a better chance since they've managed to work around the problems they had with the old one.

Also cool with companies working on 3D for home stuff and yeah, it does seem pretty impractical, but who knows what might happen some years down the road.

Aw... poor starving college student! :( I'd invite you to see the film with me if we lived withing driving distance of each other. ;)
