new or used... doesnt matter really, whatever gets the best price per pound. probably gonna be looking at 2-3 year old cars to cut out that first year depreciation. financing through Eglin FCU.
I've been pretty happy with my Mazda. It's a Mazda 6, but they also have the smaller 3 which gets better gas mileage. I feel they both have a good combo of reasonable and sporty. I got the bigger car cuz it had more safety features and I plan on having the car 10 years, which means the need for being able to fit car seats in through the back door :) full size sedans are good for that.
I'd also highly recommend looking into hybrids. They're more expensive, though.
Pros: Great Gas Mileage - 28-35 mgp Holds Value - Will resale for more than all in its class Very reliable - will run forever Easy and inexpensive to repair - if it happens to have problems Lowest 'actual' cost of ownership of any car on the market ... ever
Cons: Pricey - because they hold value Boring - everyone drives one Underpowered - you aren't going to win any races with one of these bad boys
yeah, my first thought was honda too, purely b/c i know you can run them into the ground... and they'll *still* keep going. i was looking at civics earlier today, then started feeling an itch for the accord... hmm...
