Janeea, it's like you're in my head. One of the most classic things with OCD is number associations, where certain numbers are just right, and otehrs are wrong. So I completely know what you're talking about, and I don't think you're being ridiculous.
That being said, I have learned that no matter how strongly I feel about numbers, they never actually make anything bad happen. So change your wedding if it bothers you too much (and believe me, I understand being bothered to distraction by numbers) but don't worry if it doesn't get changed. Nothing bad will happen.
The brain is a difficult thing to deal with sometimes. If you need to change the date to be comfortable with it, then you need to do so. These things are important (and really, bide's have so much leeway to do so mane crazy things, you're clear). BUT: with something like a number phobia, changing the date will get rid of those particular bad numbers, but you are bound to find more odd things.
Also, I'm now in VT, too! And we are planning on going to the fair, too. Unusual confluence of LJ commenters.
You are insane. But you're your own version of insane, and that's why you're you, and that's why we love you. And that's why Ryan loves you. And isn't that the whole point of getting married anyway
( ... )
Not that I'm the expert, but the thing about weddings is they're all ABOUT superstition and always have been. That whole thing about new, old, borrowed and blue or the bride and groom not seeing each other...and those people are following someone ELSE'S crazy associations. If you'll be genuinely happier to have your wedding when all the numbers are even, and you're willing to do the extra work to make that happen, I say go for it.
