Are you enjoying the weather? I told you it was all Autumn-y now! It's good but I have to get used to wearing my jumpers and the like again.

So what did the 'tour around the city' entail? Was it just in a car? Have you been into the City (on foot) yet? If not, I can give you the pedestrian tour sometime.

And nightlife... I don't know too much about that but I can tell you one annoying thing about Brisbane - most places close early (excluding pubs/nightclubs) and it can be a major annoyance! If you want to get anything to eat after 10pm your only choices are fast food and more fast food :\
*remembers annoying experience at South Bank last week *

jumpers?! i don't know about that, it's still pretty humid up here, it's a weird sort of weather, u get some cool breeses but it still is quite warm. today looks like it's going to be nice though.
the tour was just in the car we went through paddington and into the city where we went past a big football stadium and past by an area which looked like Martin Place in Sydney. I think i would like to check out fortitude valley. i definately would like to find a record shop like Utopia.

I'm sensitive to the cold, you see.

The Valley's alright, I work there (I'm 'there' right now). Lot of shops (clothing mainly) which I haven't yet gotten 'round to looking at. The record stores are probably more in the City - what's Utopia like?

I'm being nosey and have noticed that you have a few delusions when it comes to Brisbane. Let me help you!

First of all: it sucks. Let no one tell you otherwise. 99% of the people at the goth clubs are mindless and dull - you'll find them. Then avoid them.

Record stores: Skinny's and Rocking Horse are the good ones, though I always go to JB (on Adelaide St, opp. City Hall) because they've got a really good selection (their Bowie section is HUGE! Really! Lots of Joy Division, it's all there, it's all very very good.) and it's cheap(er). And I'm poor.

I go to Faith most Fridays. Not because I want to really, it's the only thing on (new club coming soon I've heard).I'm the tall girl at the bar causing fights - come find me ( ... )

hi hayley, well i checked out Faith last night, Amaya was right, it is like Blink, only smaller. Yes i heard that lovecats song, i was hoping they would play something off disintergration though, they played so much shit to suit the younger generation, even though i'm only 25, but i have a big thing for the 80's. I saw no tall girls there, the tallest looked to be around 5'8, i think she was wearing army pants, it is a change from most of the goth girls down in sydney being around 6 foot in there platform boots and pvc corsets. did u go last night? i wonder if u saw me, i think i was the tallest guy there. i did like that little rooms with the couches.
I think the main downside to brisbane is the heat, i thought i had missed it when i came up but it is still so sticky and humid.

I love the Cure to pieces and it pisses me off that they only play their really popular songs. But you get over it and just accept that Faith is shitty - and as good as it's going to get in Brisbane.

The new club that's opening soon (I've only heard rumours, mind you) is being run by Anika who has a fervent loathing for the 80s. So don't put too much hope into getting what you want from there.

I love 80s stuff too. You should meet Sooty, Kevin and Claire: they sometimes run a club called Xanadu (in fact you missed one 2(ish) weeks ago!) which is full of trashy 80s and good 80s songs. Sooty's a mad Duran Duran stalker fan. They're very nice.

I didn't go to Faith last night as I'm saving money for Placebo (playing tonight!). I'll probably be there next week though. I'm just over 6 foot in docs... I'm a giant. Fear me!

The little room with the couches is alright, depending on who's in there. I walked in on a couple shagging on the far right couch and haven't been in there since.

hey hayley, did u see the cure last time they were out here? i saw them down in sydney and they would have to be one of the best bands i've seen in concert, a 3 hour show with no support act, simply mind blowing, they played so much off their bloodflowers album though. what would be your favourite album/song of theirs? one of mine would be 'same deep water as you' and also that one.. i think it's called 'from the edges of the deep green sea'. Robert is such a great song writer ( ... )
