A No Go

I went to hospital for the CT scan, and everything was going well...until I was asked for $68.50 up front (what medicare doesn't pay). I didn't have it, and asked about being billed and paying in increments--but no, got the lecture about hospitals having to close if they aren't paid in full when they need it ( Read more... )

Okay, that? Bites. *hugs you* At least the blood work is underway, but still... Damn, hon, that's frustrating. I hope the CT scan can go ahead sooner rather than later.

*more hugs*

Great that's a whopping big co-pay, they couldn't have told you about that in advance so maybe you could have gotten a loan from a friend, this country sucks

Yeah, that's what gets me--nobody said anything about the money. Usually my docs just bill medicare--then I get a statement later.

I guess this hospital thinks $68.50 is chicken feed--everybody has it, right? WRONG.

I hope it all works out for you and you can get the care you need through the six month program or some other means...

It seems so bizarre to not be able to get a medical procedure you need done because of money... I guess it's just because I grew up with the concept, but it breaks my heart.
