Rumor has it that footage of this speech, given by Marlon Brando as Jor-El and filmed by Richard Donner for use in SUPERMAN II (before the Salkinds fired him and replaced him with Richard Lester, who proceded to cut the scene) may very well be restored and used in SUPERMAN RETURNS...

Translated to the human language, that statement basically says, "Oh, the big strong SUPERMAN is coming to daddy for help. I told you so! I TOLD you you'd be back. No, go ahead! Take the final energy left within me. I mean I only gave you LIFE, right?!"

That is, essentially, the gyst of the whole thing.

He uses the power crystal to grow a ship to transport him into space for a bit (what happens there, I'm not sure) and then "Returns" to Earth...hence the title.
