I borrowed Foxen's graphics tablet as I thought I'd try my hand at drawing again.
The results were quite promising: they certainly aren't good but you can recognise what the drawings are of, and that's a big step up for me.

A couple of suggestions:
- At the moment it looks like you're trying to get all your lines in the right place the first time you put them down. (ie. you've got short, wiggly, sketchy lines, like on the left side of the hand.) This isn't necessary most of the time, especially with digital drawing. You can put down as many sketch lines as you like and erase them at any time.
- Try using smaller shapes to get the form of the object (like in that episode of the Simpsons lol). It really does make it easier to get everything in proportion. And post sketches with these lines in so we can see and critique those too!
They're both good starts though, for sure.

I think part of the problem with the sketchy lines is getting used to the tablet/stylus thing.
Once I've got that pen control down a little better, I'll start to use more expansive lines to grasp the shape and then refine.
When you say smaller shapes, you mean like drawing circles and rectangles to get proportion right first and then going for shape and detail?

And yeah, that's what I mean. Basically using the shapes as a foundation and then modifying them for more detail.
