Ugh, seriously! Why wouldn't he come over, say, "Hey, I've got all this extra food and I know you have two dogs, would you like some?" and then give you the chance to say "Yes, please" or "No, thank you, our dogs have a specific diet." People have NO SENSE. Who just chucks dog food over the fence for their neighbor's dog? How does this even enter one's mind as a plausible solution for having extra dog food?

*headdesk*

eww, iams.

i remember when i started working at petland back in the day, one of the first things i learned was the diff between good animal food and food that's just...expensive.(not that petland was exactly the pinnacle of animal care greatness, just the opposite in fact, but that's another rant)

but yeah, how rude of your neighbors. why didn't they just come to you and offer you the food directly?

::waves:: Wandered over after seeing your doula comment on rainamoon's journal, because I'm very curious about doulas (it seems like such a good idea, but they're very uncommon here!). Anyway, saw this post and was very much "OMG another corn allergic dog!". My dog is allergic to corn and we have to feed a corn-free diet (Nutro!), which is difficult when it comes to finding corn-free treats ( ... )

I know! If I suddenly had all this dog food, I wouldn't just start feeding neighbours' dog, I would just take it to the pound. This neighbour has also decided that yelling at my husband's 7 year old is a good idea as well. We feed our dogs Orijen. (It's made locally as well, so that's a nice bonus!)

If you have any questions about doulas, feel free to ask or send me an email at belovedofbast @ gmail.com (still setting up my business email etc...) I, along with many other doulas, believe that every birthing woman has a right to a doula.

Thanks for your comment, do you mind if I add you?

Ugh. That would not go over well either!

At this point, I'm mostly reading up on doulas when the subject arises and trying to stay informed :) Midwifery is also an interest. I don't know what all I will want if I one day have a kid, but I'm pretty sure midwifery or a doula is something I'd like to go with over a straight cold & clinical approach.

I don't mind :) We have some similar interests, so it might work :)

Even allergy issues and rudeness aside, I think it's common knowledge that dogs will eat whatever they find that's edible, regardless of whether or not they need to, so even if he was giving them the same amount of food you already are, that's doubling their daily intake. How could he not know that that's a bad thing?

And, er, hi!! :D You knew and chatted with my headmate, Takkaddu, back in the day (the rest of us contributed, too, but weren't too vocal about making sure people knew who said what back then). A friend of mine had syleniel on her friends list, which surprised me, so I was poking around to see who I knew from FAE had an LJ.

Hey there!

Yeah, I think he thought that we didn't feed our dogs...which is ridiculous...but anyhow.

How are you?
