Argh... for those of you trying to use 290

Here's an alternative to get yourself north and avoid some of the mess on 290 and 45. I was just out earlier (about 2:30am) and Hwy 249 was relatively empty. For the sake of my good friends, if you want to take advantage of this I suggest getting yourself a really good Texas keymap of the entire state and use the Farm Roads

I wouldn't suggest going through College Station. Through the WONDERFUL insight of the presidents of ATM and Texas State (my school), they have decided to move the football game from this weekend to tonight. That means ALL of the football loving hicks that live in the either area are going to turn out for the game. ((IE: That means that several thousand un-needed people will be on the roads out there because football is their god and they don't have the brains to stay home!))

Sympathy for the football crazies invading your space. Totally sucks, I know. Stay safe, try not to blow away. The hurricane-watcher's cubicle in the office tower currently says Rita's going to make landfall Saturday morning.
