Argh! IT guys don't listen! I call cause my cd drive doesn't burn cds or dvds, and now it doesn't read cds and the hard drive runs slower than molasses since they made me delete the IDE channels.

As a general rule, IT is not helpful. Every now and then there will be a wonderful geek working for IT. But usually I feel like this is not the case. If you want, I can ask some of my geeky friends about the problem. Just tell me more about it and I'll see if they have some advice for you, or maybe you can chat directly and they'll tell you how to fix it. @_@

Problem is, my computer is still under warranty and I need to have it steady from next week till the end of the semester in order to do my exams on a computer (I don't think I can write everything I want to within 4 hours for the exam). Greatest thing, at the end of the call after talking to me for 40 minutes about how it was a software issue and not a hardware issue, he tells me to take a phillip's head screwdriver to the computer (when I asked what that had to do with the software, the guy just huffed at me). HELLO! It is a laptop, specially made by HP which means you need special tools and understanding of all the glitches HP puts in their computers to do work on it. Supposedly the head service technician is suppose to call me later today to figure out the issue, but seriously.

So, I hoping to get this resolved today. Problem is, I need to have the computer by the end of the week and now it isn't working anywhere near as well as it was before I called the IT guy. Argh, so happy I skipped class to try to deal with this.
