1. K so... I put in my library sciences application. There. And looked through the courses, and was immediately drawn to all the ones about children's literature, school libraries, etc ( Read more... )

Yeah... lots of folks offer 22 + trips so it should be ok. I'm applying for my passport this week!

3) Supposedly it is important to have both a vertical and a horizontal scratching post for your cat.
So, that is one thing you could try. Though she might still scratch other places...but perhaps it would help.

Cricket seems to be a very horizontal scratcher. I think what I'm going to do is put a carpet square over the place she likes to scratch, and she can claw THAT up.

1. Library Science?! I want a library science degree... they won't let you professionally play with books and shush people without one! I totally want to be a sexy librarian when I grow up.

2. I missed out on going to St Petersburg when I was still in college, I should have just bit the bullet taken a loan and done it. It would have been a good experience. Therefore I say go for it! World Traveling is good for the soul!

3. Scratching posts and boxs with nip in them. Nashoba calls that redirection!

4. NOM NOM HOMEMADE CHEESE I miss making it D:

5. I'm quite partial to Mojito's and bloody marys but those pretty easy I think.

6. I love my volunteer job at http://willimanticfood.coop/, everyone talks about politics and organic produce and soy beans and tofu. And we all grumble about how expensive it is to buy bee pollen and how flour prices are going up and WOW aren't these dark chocolate organic pecans delicious and SIGH I want to work there for reals.

1. I promise I'm doing this for additional reasons besides indulging Stephan's Sexy Librarian fetish. ;) I hope I get in, it would be a very useful degree.

2. I totally will. All it'll cost me is the air fare to the meet site (New York, in which case I'ma try and visit you, or L.A.) and a bit extra for spending money, so I'd be crazy not to go.

3. She has a scratchy box, which she uses, but mostly uses the rug. I'm getting her a carpet square to destroy if I can find a preschool to steal one from or something.

4. NOM NOM I found the easiest paneer recipe ever, all you need is milk and a lemon... hope my household likes curry... muahaha

5. I would love to make mojitos, they sound so refreshing but I have never tried one.

6. What a cool co-op!

one scratching post isnt normally enough, she will want to scratch wherever you are. if you are super crafty and super broke you can make them by cutting strips of currogated card board and then just lining them up your self. Put them wherever she scratches (seriously we have like 5 of them)
Rub them regularly with nip or put pepermint oil/ cooking extract on them. Also you can get at wallmart one of those colapsable kitty carpet towers that you put up to the ceeling. I had one they are suprisigly cheep (though they look rediculous) This will also give her the reasurance of having her own space and a high secure location wich might also be why she scratches..out of nervousness.

Also she may be bored, put feathers/beads.jingles on strings and hang them from drawer pull and door knobs...

now you see why my house look So silly :D

I miss UUUUUUUUUUU

and I want to go to Isreal too! Please send me one of those lucky hand charms if you go!!!

Thanks for the tips- next time I'm out I'll get some more supplies. I love those kitty towers! I don't think one would look too bad in here, but then again we don't do much in the way of decour ;)

*laughs* Cricket is so self conscious about playing. She'll paw a ribbon a couple times, then look embarrassed by the whole affair and walk away.

And of course I will get you a hand charm! I apply next week. *crosses fingers*

hee a self conscious kitty.
I wish OUR kitten was like that. He unabashedly wails on my curtain ties.....they are in shreds no matter WHAT I do. I am at this point just waiting for him to grow out of it and then I will just replace the half eaten tassels >.<
Some times if I see him doing it, I throw limes at him ^.^

*keeping fingers crossed for your trip!*

Hahaha well, that's what kittens are all about (besides the extreme cuteness.) I can just imagine you chucking limes.

*keeping fingers crossed too*

I was cleaning today and was whomped on the head by a basket that then rained down tiny Sky letters all around me like gold filigree leaves. I had a good laugh going through them, many of them are folded into tiny books or are on odd little scraps of paper or have anime boi and guppies drawn on them or have ALOT of glitter on them. Hee hee. I had saved them all you know! I saved a few and put the rest into the recycling because after their fall I would never get them all back into their corresponding envelopes. What do you do with old letters?

*laughs* I save yours too! In a shoebox. I had to get rid of one box when we moved and am starting over again. They are pretty and earth tones and have drawings all over, and your old old ones are very formal and your newer ones are very funny and the drawings get better and better.

its really funny to think that there is a shoe box full of my handwrighting. I am thinking that I am going to use your letters to wall paper the inside of a closet, they make me happy when I see your scribbly wrighting (much less scribbly now then when you were in school;) And your right, the colors are just so pretty!
I sent you a letter today actually! Today I have the day off and instead of doing any of the many things I NEED to do....I am making a fishnet poncho by following an instructional survival video on how to make a net. XD Reminds me of the craft nights that we had in the dorms...I think I will put on some Slovakian submarine music for old times sake!

Haha I remember that time you built the HUGE loom in my mom's living room, going "I saw one just like this for three seconds on a national geographic commercial several years ago" or something like that :)
