if you heard someone screaming in the distance, don't worry, that was just meneutralizeSeptember 2 2010, 04:06:56 UTC
... okay, before I launch into a GIANT fangasm, let me sincerely apologize for how seriously disorganized my prompt thing was-- it was my first time in a fic exchange, could you tell |':
Having said that:
/FANGIRLS FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER AND KRDHGKDJHGK
oh my god, you did Byron, FUCKING BYRON, dhgkjdsghsjdkhgfkjg!! MAN, WHERE DO I EVEN WANT TO BEGIN. JUST... AAAAAAAHXFKDFKGDFGHJK
God, I felt so sorry for Byron in here-- this was without a doubt a very interesting take on his character, and why he's the hardass he is today! I simply adored the dialect in here; honestly, utilizing that made so much more of an impact in the story, because it really exemplifies all of what Byron knows to be his world. And goddamn, I am never looking at Oreburgh City in the same way ever again. ;A;
Some of my favorites for me to fangasm over:
It’s tough, grueling work, but someone’s gotta do it.
(Byron just wishes, in hindsight, that he wasn’t that someone.)Just... wow. That line alone-- if that was the only line to describe Byron's feelings
( ... )

lol, your prompt was fine i feel bad for the girl who got mine - i gave her no room for creativity. OTL
let me just say that i am so glad you enjoyed this fic, because i legit wrote most of it in a day D; i was all like "oh hey, i'll get it done the weekend before the deadline" and then, lo and behold, i got violently ill and couldn't function at all and then i had like a shit ton of homework the next few days thanks a bunch, universe & AP classes
I am never looking at Oreburgh City in the same way ever again ahaha omg i love making pokemon all DARK AND SRS BIZNESS it's my fav. hobby |D
my favorite stanza of the song was probably the fourth one. Fucking. Awesome. oh hell yes sixteen tons is the most fabulous song - as soon as i heard it i was like "i need to write byron!fic based on this". oh me, relating pokemon to everything
so anyways, THANK YOU FOR THE KIND WORDS BB now i am incredibly relieved and am able to concentrate fully on reading about the protestant reformation or w/e i have to do tonight
The voice of this fic is amazing, as in, the AMAZING kind of AMAZING. You pulled it off incredibly well, with the country(?) slang and the words you chose. Very detailed yet I could imagine it coming from the eyes of a young Byron. The part where his wife left him and Roark really got to me, because you wrote it in such a depressing way, oh I really fell in love with the line 'He wonders what she expected from a sad-eyed mining boy with a dying father, heartbroken mother, and not a penny to his name.' Can't get it out of my head now.
I like how the last part actually gives a sense of hope and new beginning, gdi you are so amazing I can say it as many times as I want but it'll never be enough ffffffffffff ♥♥
