you should read jasbir puar's essay on transnationalism, it's called "global circuits." also, judith/jack halberstam is like, an awesome example of gender performance and a fantastic writer. but the puar essay is fucking crucial!

i really like the topic, i just HATE having to explain queer theory through the actions of complex characters in almodovar's film because they are each like a MINE-field of gender binary deconstruction. which you would think sounds easy, but it's like ridiculously un-fun.

and yeah i'll definitely have to check those out
