the last voyages.
Tim is Dick’s younger brother, and he would honestly do anything for him without question or hesitation. They’ve been very close pretty much since Tim started out as Robin and have technically known each other since the night Dick’s parents were killed. Dick was surprised to see Tim on board, but is honestly super grateful to have him around.
He has had a hard time getting used to the fact that Tim’s grown up a lot since the last time he saw him, and even after almost a year on the Barge, he still thinks of him as the kid he was before his life fell apart first, and can still get caught off guard by his more Bruceish or just adult qualities. Tim saying he likes his life in the future is really the only thing keeping Dick from making a new deal to rewrite his history, and apparently, Dick’s death in an alternate timeline was enough to push Tim over the edge and become a gun toting, murderous Batman, so there really isn’t a question about how much they matter to each other. The two usually turn to each other first in a time of crisis to band together and try to stop things from getting worse.
Even if he’s grown up a lot, he’s still his little brother. Dick is always looking out for him, even when Tim might not want him to, and is more than willing to try and drag him out of ruts of depression or distract him from whatever’s bothering him.
TIM DRAKE | RED ROBIN
Here there will be text.
RORSCHACH | WALTER KOVACS
Jim and Dick started out as chess buddies who talked about Barge happenings and the mess that was Tim and Shego, but after Bruce showed up, Jim figured out “the secret” and from there, they quickly became legitimately good friends. Jim is Dick’s closest friend on the Barge, and he’s often the person he goes to when he needs to talk about stuff he can’t or doesn’t want to talk to Tim about. In return, Dick is one of the people Jim goes to to complain about stuff that’s bothering him, and Dick has been happy to play optimistic voice of reason if necessary.
They were partners during the Old West breach - two US Marshals hunting down Hoffman’s counterpart - and Dick pulled him out of the OS19 port when Jim was assimilated as a human trafficker. They both got themselves killed during Mirrorverse, Dick bothers him to spar/run/go rock climbing/play tag with a phaser pretty frequently, Jim introduces him to alien alcohol and in general, they get along super well. Jim is easily Dick’s best friend on the Barge, and at this point, has told him pretty much everything about his life back home, from Nightwing to Blüdhaven to Babs, and obviously trusts him quite a bit.
CAPTAIN JAMES T. KIRK
Dick and Arthur are pretty chill bros. They hang out, they talk about stuff, they spar a lot, but most of the time, it’s pretty surface level, and that’s okay. Neither one is really in the habit of pushing people to open up about stuff because they don’t respond well to people doing it to them, and ironically enough, this got Dick to actually open up to Arthur and come clean about being a vigilante, something that he knew Arthur already knew about anyway. In return, Arthur fessed up about being a criminal, and although in theory this should probably bother Dick, it doesn’t, really. He trusts Arthur enough - and knows enough about his universe - that he knows he’s not actually a bad guy, so he doesn’t hold it against him.
So, all things considered, they’re actually pretty close. At some point, Dick is probably going to ask him more about how the PASIV actually works, and might try to convince him to let him give it a shot, because he’s paranoid, curious and likes being super prepared for stuff.
ARTHUR
John looks like Bruce. And acts a little like Bruce. Needless to say, Dick was a little rattled when he showed up, but honestly, he likes him a lot. Dick isn’t really sure how much of this is related to the fact that he’s a lot like Bruce, and he doesn’t really want to think too hard about it, so he’s just going to get to know him like he would any other person.
He’s extremely easy to talk to, despite the potential awkward, and John has told him a fair amount about his life back home. Dick’s told him about Blüdhaven, and came ridiculously close to telling him about Nightwing, too, but chickened out at the last second. This turned out to be not an issue when during Flagg’s occupation of the Barge, Dick wore his Nightwing gear to take back the bridge with John and Capa, and they pretty much did a classic bonding through horrible trauma scenario. John’s given him information on how to take down the T-X if necessary and in general, John’s quickly become someone Dick wants to look out for and help in any way he can. He’s handy in a crisis, he knows the secret and isn’t bothered by it, he’s a bro. That’s that.
JOHN CONNOR
Dick didn't know Capa super well for a while. He was Hayley's warden, and is now currently assigned to Rex and that was more or less it. Still, he seemed like a decent enough guy, and Dick thought pretty highly because of how Hayley talked about him.
This general respect was pretty much exponentially multiplied when Capa was one of the other wardens who volunteered to help John Connor and Dick take back the bridge during Randall Flagg's occupation of the Barge. Although not a fighter, Capa kept up with them without complaint and definitely pulled his own weight. The scientist is clearly a lot tougher than Dick originally gave him credit for, and considering threeish days in hellish conditions is generally a formula for really forming a connection with other people, Dick honestly considers him to be a friend.
ROBERT CAPA
The Seventh Doctor has sort of taken on a father figure role for Tim, and seems to have taken an interest in Dick as well. Seven apparently adopted the boys in the port where they all played house, and the experience helped Dick get to know the guy a little better, and since then, Seven has sort of been an Alfred equivalent on the Barge for the older vigilante.
He gives good advice, nonjudgmental medical attention when Dick breaks his hand/whatever other mischief he gets up to, and is not opposed to hugs. Basically, Dick likes Seven a lot, and tries to look out with him when stuff gets difficult for the Doctor, too. He’s offered to help out with the counseling center the Doctor was interested in starting, although it’s been put a little on hold for the moment.
THE SEVENTH DOCTOR
Martha has become something of a maternal figure to Dick, despite there not actually being that huge an age difference between them. It might be more accurate to say she’s sort of taken a Donna-ish role in his life, someone who looks out for him and tells him to cut the crap when he’s lying about how badly he’s hurt. She knows about Nightwing, and is good about knowing when to push and when not to. Dick does really appreciate that she looks out for him, and often goes to her when stuff on the Barge is getting too heavy, and is more than happy to return the favor if she ever needs it.
The two of them talk about movies, Barge issues, throwing parties and killing time, and really, Dick just likes her. She’s a good person, and he’s glad there’s another doctor on board he can trust basically implicitly.
DR. MARTHA JONES
Molly tagged along with Dick and Tim during the Wasteland port, and figured out the big secret pretty quickly. It's not all that hard to figure out when you've seen two guys who probably shouldn't be that good at dodging bullets and taking out heavily armed hostiles have something going on other then being a high school student and former police officer. Since then, Dick and Molly have chatted and hung out a fair amount. They have a fair few friends in common, and have gotten up to some fun antics together, including dog walking and decorating for Tim’s birthday party. He likes her a lot, and she’s one of the people that no matter how crummy the Barge is, he’s glad to have met.
MOLLY CARPENTER
Snape is Martha’s husband, and he’s really not so bad, most of the time. That said, he still has his moments of being the same snarky bastard as he was in the books, so for a while, Dick thought he wasn’t exactly in Snape’s good books. But, through chance encounters and conversations, it’s actually become apparent that Snape actually doesn’t hate him. He wouldn’t necessarily go as far as to say the other man considers him a friend or anything, but Dick actually kind of likes him, and he knows his assholishness can be sort of a front. Would someone who really hated everyone on the Barge help Martha make emergency kits for them during a crisis?
SEVERUS SNAPE
Parker was buddies with Bruce before he disappeared, and is someone who totally gets the whole wearing ridiculous clothes into combat thing, plus she’s got a kind of fun, abrasive sense of humor, so Dick likes her. They spar and hang out sometimes.
PARKER
Dick is honestly really not sure why a normal person like Summer would ever willingly sign herself away to be on the Barge, and kind of wonders if she’s secretly nuts. But, whatever the case, he likes her, and he likes having a normal person around who isn’t prying into his life and asking too many awkward questions. During the fairytale port, they basically played out the plot of The Swan Princess with a dash of Robin Hood, which was kind of awkward afterwards, but on the Barge they’re just friendly.
SUMMER FINN
Jon comes from some crazy sounding medievalish universe, and seems like a good kid. Guy. He’s actually pretty young, but people from that sort of universe always seem a lot older than they actually are. During the fairytale port, they were childhood friends - literally Robin and Little John, actually - and Dick likes him.
JON SNOW
So, Ariadne’s back. Third time’s the charm, right? And weirdly enough, seems a lot less nosy than she used to be. Arthur told her Dick knows basically everything about their world - through the freak accident of Costigan having Cobb’s face, being friends with Arthur and the whole Mal situation - and she knows they were friends/friendly the last two times she was here, so she’s been acting pretty much like a normal person being friendly with someone she’s known for a while, which is fine by him. He’s more than happy to just pick things up where they left off, although that is a little awkward since he definitely did have a crush on her when she was here last time. So. We’ll see how that goes.
ARIADNE
Buffy was friendly with Bruce before he vanished, and the two of them bonded over him vanishing by beating the crap out of each other. As she’s the Slayer, she’s stronger and faster than a normal human, which means she’s actually able to keep up with and provide a challenge for Dick in sparring. That said, they’re not actually extremely close, as they don’t talk much out of the occasional session, but Dick thinks she’s a pretty okay person.
He more or less assumed she knew about him being Robin back in the day, since she knew about Bruce being Batman and once you know that, it’s not hard to make the jump to his adoptive son being involved too, but apparently she didn’t know until she saw Dick’s warden item, and then actually saw him in uniform in Paris when he stopped a couple muggers from beating her up.
BUFFY SUMMERS
George was a friend of Howie’s and seems like a pretty decent guy. He’s a little old fashioned and tends to end up in sort of awkward but schadenfreudicly amusing situations, but he’s a good guy and Dick is glad the Barge has another good warden on board. He’s liked talking to him, and although he can be kind of a derp, does think pretty highly of him because he’s always got his heart in the right place, and Dick considers him a friend.
CONSTABLE GEORGE CRABTREE
Cissie is a friend of Tim's and a former vigilante. Although Dick doesn't know Cissie super super well, either on the Barge or back at home (since Young Justice was pretty far off his radar back before the Graduation Day fiasco, and Cissie had quit by then) she's a really good person to have around. Not that this is really surprising because again, friend of Tim's and a former member of Young Justice, but she helped Dick keep Tim from going out again during Rex's Nanomites endgame after he got shot in the shoulder, and gave him someone to talk to when Bruce decided to be a major asshole again. He really appreciates that, and has tried to look out for her when things have been crummy on her end, too.
CISSIE KING-JONES | ARROWETTE
Kay is easily one of the most reliable and trustworthy wardens on board, in that he's someone who seems to know what he's doing in a crisis situation, and therefore, Dick definitely appreciates his presence on the Barge. He doesn't know him super well, and therefore he's not exactly someone Dick immediately thinks to go do when he needs a hand personally, but he's a good guy. He’s someone who’s always trying to make sure people are getting good information and looking out for each other during dangerous situations, and Dick respects and appreciates that.
AGENT K
T'Pol is Slade's new warden. Dick doesn't know much about her, but knows she's competent and has helped take care of the Saw twins when they've gotten out of hand before, so he thinks she can probably do a decent job trying to give Slade a hand or at least keep him in check if he ever decides to pull anything stupid.
They’ve talked a little about Slade and Dick’s relationship, and she seemed interested to find out that while Dick does hate him for what he did to his city, he doesn’t actually want him to be stuck here forever. He hasn’t told her about Slade’s mini breakdown during the truth flood yet, largely because he has no idea what to think about it himself, but he’s pretty sure she knows he’s hovering on the verge of something.
COMMANDER T'POL
Jane is much more quick tempered than Eddie Russett was, and seems to get frustrated with some of the explanations people give her about their worlds don’t really meet her standards or ideas of how the world actually works. Still, she’s interesting, and Dick’s enjoyed talking with her. She was Sexby’s warden when he went on a rampage after the fairytale port, angry that Angelica had disappeared, and Dick was one of the wardens who helped back her up when she went to talk him down. She’s incredibly passionate, and despite cultural misunderstandings, Dick thinks she’s a good person.
JANE BRUNSWICK
Dick doesn’t know Prefect too well outside of the Wild West Breach, where he was the town sheriff and therefore Bruce and Tim’s boss. He worked with him a little to catch Hoffman’s counterpart, and Prefect’s counterpart was a pretty awesome guy. Prefect himself is a strong advocate for inmate’s rights, and has handled most Barge crises very well, so Dick thinks he’s a good warden and a good person to have as a coworker.
PREFECT
Una was one of the people who offered to come along to try and take back the Bridge during Flagg’s occupation of the Barge, but was snatched by the entity’s powers before she could get close, and dumped into the CES. Dick still appreciates her attempt, and carries a decent amount of guilt over not being able to stop O’Brien before the inmate basically committed suicide.
UNA PERSSON
Olive is a fan of Winston Churchill. Dick is a FDR fan. Clearly this means she’s got good taste and generally, she seems like a good kid. Dick isn’t really sure why she’s on the Barge (somehow, he doubts that she’s secretly a vigilante), she’s been a fun person to talk to.
OLIVE PENDERGHAST
Dick and Luke talked once about their inmates, and how the Barge works and how frustrating it can be. It sounds like Luke comes from a world that’s sort of similar to Dick’s, in that superheroes and villains are pretty common there, but they’re not from the same world. He knows Luke’s ridiculously strong, and he helped Dick, Spike and a few others take down Eddie Brock when he took hostages during a memory loss flood, so he’s definitely a good guy to have on your side during a fight.
LUKE CAGE
Merlin and Dick haven’t talked a ton, but he seems like a pretty good guy, and Dick’s liked talking to them when they’ve crossed paths. He was a friend of Hayley’s too, and apparently dated her for a while, which Dick… doesn’t really get, honestly, but he’s never asked him about it, because Dick doesn’t really pry into that stuff.
MERLIN
Rhade is a recent inmate turned warden, and someone Dick talked to a bit while he was spiraling over Costigan vanishing. Rhade had lost a lot of people too, but managed to graduate without the assistance of a warden not long afterwards.
GAHERIS RHADE
Dick avoids Trip, mostly because he's very, very cavalier with his knowledge about comic books and movies, and Dick would prefer the big secret to stay a secret, thanks very much Commander.
COMMANDER TRIP TUCKER
Will is David’s new warden. Dick doesn’t know him super well, but so far it seems like he has the other teenager’s best interests at heart, and has been looking out for him. Considering how crappy Bourne was to him, this is a huge step up, and Dick appreciates that David’s paired up with someone who actually might be able to help him now.
WILL PARRY
McCoy is Jim’s best friend from back home, and one of the doctors at the infirmary. Dick is under specific instructions not to talk about Jim with him, which he’s more than happy to comply to since he’s not a gossipy teenage girl, but the doctor is still someone to keep an eye out for, both because Dick is a nosy pain in the ass and also to make sure the doctor’s doing alright.
DOCTOR LEONARD McCOY
Spock is another one of Jim’s crewmates from back home. He was on the Barge briefly before Jim and Dick were friends, and Dick hasn’t talked to him much since he came back on board, but Dick is interested to maybe get to know him a little better, again, because he’s nosy and curious about what Jim’s universe is like.
COMMANDER SPOCK
Sherlock is extremely intelligent, and pretty similar to his book counterpart without actually being his book counterpart. Dick hasn’t interacted with him much on the Barge, but as he’s someone who is a pretty decent detective (Dick is a little biased as to who the world’s greatest detective is), he’s someone to keep an eye on, especially considering Moriarty’s apparently willing to commit murder to get his attention.
SHERLOCK HOLMES
Locke is a weird guy, but he seems like he’s got a decent head on his shoulders, and is someone Dick’s vaguely keeping an eye on. He came along with a group of wardens including Dick to stop Sexby’s rampage, and seems like someone who responds really passionately when things bother him, which means he’s potentially a liability if things get heavy.
JOHN LOCKE
Dick is not exactly Caesares’s biggest fan, if only because the two of them interacted for the first time, he came off as being kind of a hypocritical jackass while Dick was trying to recover from the fallout after the encounter with the Mirror Barge and the shock of losing Costigan. Hopefully, their interactions will be more positive in the future.
DOCTOR CAESARES
A comic book fanboy, and a secret badass, Chuck seems like a pretty decent guy, and Dick would be lying if he said the guy didn't win major points for knowing he's Nightwing and not Robin anymore. Most other people who read the comics just seem to know about the short pants. He's got some secrets of his own kept getting interrupted by ports, floods, hordes of Aztecs, etc - but Dick's now one of the few people on board who knows about the Intersect, and while it's not really anything particularly out of the ordinary as far as origin stories go, Dick still isn't going to tell anyone.
Also, apparently Dick looks like his college roommate. Which is weird.
CHUCK BARTOWSKI
Stildyne contacted Dick, Nygma and George about Lupin’s murder, and gave them information that eventually led to the culprit being identified. He’s former military, and Dick has sparred with him. He doesn’t know much about him apart from that, but he seems like a decent guy.
BRACHI STILDYNE
Dick doesn't know Claire super well, but from the conversations they've had, she seems like an okay kid who just… doesn’t really get the Barge, and he’s not sure why she’s still here. They had an argument when Costigan attacked her inmate and was almost killed by Armand, because Costigan had a reason for doing it and Claire was as defensive of Armand as Dick was of Costigan, but the situation has more or less resolved itself, especially with Armand’s disappearance from the Barge.
CLAIRE BENNET
Dick honestly isn’t sure why Armand has put up with the Barge as long as he has, especially since he apparently completed his deal with Loki’s graduation, especially since things… really seemed to fall apart for him for a while, with Jack Harkness’s reappearance and disappearance, the drama with Rex and Dracula and God only knows what else. He seems to hate it here- but really, who doesn’t? - and generally, he confuses Dick.
ARMAND ST. JUST
Dick and Will have not had much interaction, although Dick thought Will was an idiot for not considering John Doe a threat, especially when within a week of having this conversation, John kidnapped, tortured and murdered Howie. Dick was pretty angry about it, and he and Costigan organized a sort of deal where Costigan would continue talking with Doe and report back to Dick if he said anything threatening.
Doe ended up graduating, and Will’s sort of fallen off Dick’s radar. Apart from having misplaced faith in his inmate, he doesn’t seem like a bad guy or a threat. Rachel recently impersonated him so she could kidnap a few people, something which Will was not happy to find out about when he woke up from his coma.
WILL GRAHAM
Bourne was Slade and David's former warden. Dick officially met Jason when Costigan stabbed him in the shoulder while hallucinating and confusing him for Colin Sullivan again. Needless to say, it was not really the most pleasant introduction he's ever had, although he's probably had worse.
Bourne has kind of proven himself to be a pretty incompetent, inattentive warden for David (and potentially for Slade, too), so Dick actually… basically really thinks he’s an idiot and needs to get his act together, or get back to his real job. He punished David in a way that was more or less totally abusing him, and tried to argue his case to the other wardens in a way that really didn’t endear himelf to Dick, especially when his further behavior as a warden got David desperate enough to go to Arthas for more powers, and led to a rampage which injured seven people and killed another.
JASON BOURNE
Nygma is allegedly reformed by the time Tim is from. Dick always had major doubts about this - when you’ve spent most of your life foiling someone’s crimes, it’s hard to just imagine they’ve decided to turn over a new leaf - but watching him on the Barge has pretty much confirmed that if he ever was redeemed, he’s certainly backslid now.
He’s helped create weapons, aided and abetted inmates, participated in grudges, bullied inmates, committed murder, invaded people’s privacy, broke into other people’s rooms, ignored his own inmate in favor of harassing people and being nefarious, and generally been a horrible, horrible warden. Dick has no idea why he hasn’t been demoted - as people have been demoted for much less - and actually has a lot of information about exactly what Nygma’s done through Costigan (who was Nygma’s former inmate), and if he ever gets together with the other people with damning evidence on him (Howie, Kay, Eames and Arthur, to name a few), there is a decent chance the lid will really be blown off how exactly what he’s been up to this whole time.
Needless to say, Dick doesn’t and has never really trusted him, although he is definitely distantly disappointed he’s apparently fallen so far. He is, however, still willing to work with him from time to time, and their relationship goes between Dick being angry with him and being willing to just tease him about stuff.
EDWARD NYGMA
Dick has literally no idea why the T-X is a warden. It is a robot designed to destroy the human race, and has specific orders to kill John Connor. Apparently since its learned that death isn’t permanent here, it’s decided to try other means to harm John, which does not sit well with Dick at all, ever.
It’s basically unstoppable, and apparently being hit by it is akin to being hit by a car, but John can reprogram it if necessary and gave Dick information on how it works and how to bring it down if you’re lucky enough to survive long enough to try. Dick isn’t planning on engaging with it unless he has to, because he doesn’t actually have a death wish, but he definitely wants to stop it from hurting anyone, and he really feels uncomfortable with her on board as a coworker.
THE T-X
Slade is pretty much Dick's arch nemesis. They share a long and complicated history and quasi recently, Slade dropped a bomb on Dick's city, turning it into a radioactive wasteland and killing thousands of innocent people, which is why Dick’s on the Barge. Needless to say, they're generally exactly on good/speaking terms with each other.
This was made worse when the two started pushing each other's buttons, which escalated into Dick jumping him, and ended with Slade walking away from a pretty broken Gotham vigilante, but shockingly, Slade accepted Dick’s apology for attacking him, and was actually really nice to him during a flood when Dick’s counterpart was really upset about the prospect of remembering things incorrectly and having to go back to his horrible homeworld. And then he helped Dick get back in shape after he was killed during the Mirrorverse event. So. Dick was kind of confused. And not sure how to feel about that.
And then during a truth flood, Slade punched him in the face and word vomited at him about how he blew up his city to prove that he was a bad guy, and it was Dick because he was one of the people who might have seen some good in him anyway. And then he apologized. Dick has no idea how to feel about this, and is pretty certain Slade is heading right for a breakdown.
SLADE WILSON | DEATHSTROKE
Shego is Jim’s inmate and Tim’s ex girlfriend. Honestly, Dick was slightly disturbed to find out that apparently Tim's "turning into Bruce" thing went as far as developing his taste in women. Because that's not creepy at all. Aside from that, she actually seemed pretty cool, although after she and Tim broke up, he’s got to admit, he’s kind of on Tim’s side about the whole thing. Sort of. More or less. It’s complicated, and Dick prefers to stay out of his family’s romantic lives.
However, she is a good sparring partner. And a good person to chase over Parisian rooftops after she’s broken into a museum. You know. Normal stuff.
SHEGO
Dick met Hoffman after Amanda brutally murdered him, and had the honor of being the one to bring his body back to the infirmary. He's yet another cop who's been pushed in the incredibly wrong direction, and although initially, Dick was willing to cut him maybe a little slack, his actions on the Barge have meant that any sympathy he might have had for the guy is pretty nonexistent at this point.
Hoffman, for his part, seems to enjoy taunting Dick and trying to make it out that all it would take is a little push for Dick to be exactly the same as him. This sort of thing doesn't freak him out or really even bother him, considering Dick's been pushed to breaking point and done just fine, thanks. Hoffman is really no different from any other psycho from back home, and he had better stay the hell away from people Dick cares about.
The fact that it felt too satisfying to have shot and arrested his counterpart during the Wild West Breach has sort of bothered him, but generally, he’s tried to stay out of Hoffman’s business. There was a moment where he thought maybe something had finally gotten through to him, but after he assaulted Rex in the shower and said Dick should have just let him kill him, Dick really gave up on the former cop turned serial killer, and has zero interest in engaging with him further unless it’s to protect another person.
DETECTIVE MARK HOFFMAN
Amanda is yet another member of Dick's watch list of "people to keep an incredibly close eye on". He’s only talked to her briefly, but he got sort of pulled into her life when he helped Ariadne handle the mess she'd made of Hoffman, and has sort of adopted the whole thing as a side project, something to keep an eye out for and monitor to make sure things don't get out of hand again. She used to be Ariadne's inmate, but then Ariadne left and came back with no memories, and so Amanda was then assigned to Sarah Harding, who frankly seemed a lot more capable of putting up with her then Ariadne ever was.
Recently, Costigan bothered her for bragging about her former heroin addiction, and now Dick is a little concerned Amanda’s going to use that as an excuse to do something terrible to his inmate. If anything was going to happen with that, Costigan vanished before it could. And with Sarah vanishing, it’s likely there will be more fallout to be worried about from her.
AMANDA YOUNG
David is a shapeshifter, and although Dick isn't sure of his specific power limitations and hasn't actually seen him in combat with these abilities, he’s still sort of a threat to be monitored, especially considering he seems to know the comic books, and Dick is still uncomfortable with everyone knowing his identity. However, in recent months, David has proven he’s more misguided than anything else, and Dick has developed a lot more sympathy for him than he did initially.
Dick helped rescue him from the OS19 port, and afterwards tried to sort of get through to him about not all wardens being bad. He sort of empathizes with him, but at the same time, David is such a stubborn asshole that it’s sort of hard to feel like you’re making any progress with him at all. However, Dick - with the help of Tim - talked him out of killing Kirk in revenge for what happened in OS19 (which Kirk wasn’t even in control of), and Dick kept an eye out for him while they were both feeling crappy about Costigan leaving. Tim and Dick also helped talk him down when he got Death Knight powers from Arthas, which seriously injured several people and killed another, and advocated for him to the other wardens.
DAVID
Alternate universe counterpart of the Scarecrow. Dick's not a fan of his counterpart and he's not a fan of him. He's fun to troll. That's really it.
Or, that was really it until Bruce attacked him and decided to let him know that he's Batman, without telling Dick or Tim or anyone about it first. And then Crane announced it to everyone, and it's enough that Dick is concerned people are suspicious, and he's not really comfortable with everyone knowing his identity. So, basically, object of extreme loathing and dislike at this point, especially after his video taping Rex getting killed by Perry. He’s good at hiding it, though.
DR. JONATHAN CRANE | THE SCARECROW
Rex is sort of a weird guy. Several months ago, he decided he wanted to get the hell off the Barge, injected people with "nanomites", and generally caused havoc. Dick was initially concerned that Costigan had been nanomited (and both the inmate and Bruce thought Dick himself had been), but it turned out that no, Costigan is actually one of Rex's only real friends on board, and because of that - and because Dick is his warden - Rex left the two of them alone. Because of their friendship, Dick has also tried to keep an eye out for Rex whenever Costigan is out of commission, and has continued to monitor him a little since Costigan disappeared.
He’d like to think Rex has made some progress in the last few months, but he has moments of being pretty unstable, so how redeemed he actually is, Dick isn’t sure.
REX LEWIS | COBRA COMMANDER
Dick isn’t really sure why Sirius is an inmate, considering he’s read Harry Potter and while he might have been kind of a jerk, he doesn’t quite seem like inmate material. He recently contacted him about developing a defense against magic from their world, or at least getting experience combating it, to which Sirius agreed as long as Snape knows Dick asked him to be involved.
SIRIUS BLACK
Moriarty was Bruce’s first inmate the first time he was on board, and now he’s been reassigned to Trip Tucker. Dick doesn’t know him very well, but he was one of the wardens who got called in to investigate Lupin’s murder, which was apparently orchestrated by Moriarty to piss of Sherlock and Watson. Clearly he’s someone to keep an eye on, and so Dick might have to play stalker a bit in the future.
JIM MORIARTY
Blonsky was Steph’s first inmate, and Dick didn’t have a ton of interaction with him while they were paired. He fought him while Blonsky was Nanomited by Rex, and has sparred with him a few times, but the two aren’t particularly close or anything.
EMIL BLONSKY
Jesse was someone Costigan looked out for while he was still around and Jesse had just shown up on the Barge, which meant that when Bill vanished, Jesse talked with Dick about it a little and Dick agreed to hook him up with some cigarettes, as this was apparently something Costigan was doing for the other inmate before he disappeared.
Jesse’s been acting kind of weird lately, and Dick has enough experience with drug addicts and addiction to assume that Costigan’s interest in him wasn’t just feeling sorry for the other inmate randomly. Still, Locke probably knows, and the Barge is kind of a mess, so Dick has just pulled back to monitor for now.
JESSE PINKMAN
Ana is Rex’s sister, a good person to spar with because she can actually keep up with him and apparently a fan of Selina, which is… weird if not surprising. She’s someone to keep an eye on, if only because he honestly wouldn’t put it past her or Rex to try scheming to get out of here again, and he’d definitely like to spar with her more frequently.
ANA LEWIS | THE BARONESS
O’Brien is kind of a dick. But, funnily enough, he proved to be pretty helpful during the Flagg takeover, and the attempt to take back the bridge. Dick still feels guilty about not being able to talk him out of basically committing suicide, but appreciates him being apparently a decent enough guy to give them a hand and not just let the Barge burn.
COMRADE O’BRIEN
Rachel is another Animorph, which really kind of just leads to questions about who the hell thought it was a good idea to give these kids powers. She refused to reveal her identity at first, and assaulted David while in a morph before kidnapping several people and trying to escape the Barge. While it’s not clear if she’s actually violent, she’s still someone to keep an eye on, especially because Bourne is now her warden.
Whoever thought that was a good idea also must be crazy.
RACHEL BERENSON
Arthas seems to have been here since forever, and Dick has no idea how close to redeemed he actually is. He’s an extremely dangerous combatant, and he’s not someone to be messed around with, even if he seems like he’s vaguely nonthreatening sometimes. Dick was incapacitated when he went on a rampage and stole a few people’s souls with his sword, and when he set himself on fire and broadcast it to the network, but he was around for him helping out during Rex’s attempted takeover of the Barge, and when he gave David Death Knight powers that allowed the Animorph to go on a rampage.
Basically, in his mind, Arthas is and always a threat, and is someone to keep an eye on, but from a distance.
ARTHAS MENETHIL
Barron is a troll, who likes manipulating and taking advantage of people, and decided he wanted to joke around about Blüdhaven. Basically, Dick thinks he’s an asshole and has him on his list of people to watch and talk to if shit hits the fan and it looks like he might have had involvement.
BARRON SHARPE
Wanda wasn’t really on Dick’s radar until Franklin kidnapped her, and she lashed out at the wardens as a whole because of what she viewed as lack of action on her part. Since then, she’s seemed increasingly unstable and mean, and as such, is someone to keep an eye on.
WANDA MAXIMOFF | SCARLET WITCH
the departed.
For Dick’s former CR, head
