and while i am having fun with my IPad, i am not overly pleased with how Mac set it up. I really am trying to approach this with an open mind, but I do not feel they properly inform of a few things ( Read more... )

I think coming from an iPhone, a lot of the things you've mentioned arent ones I've noticed because I've already adjusted to the curve. That being said, I think the idea of an iPad (or any tablet) is never to replace a computer/notebook. This is a bridge device, made for enjoying media consumption, and that's about it. A lot of people find they don't get it because they expect it to do more than that, and that's not the idea ( ... )

1. No...it's not a replacement regardless of what the Mac-addicts want to sell you on. You still need a PC or a Mac to sync it with iTunes to get updates and the such.
2. Yes, it must be synced to your Apple Account for initial use.
3. Yes again, you MUST have a cc on file for apps, regardless of pricing.
4. This is how they get you....
5. This made me wrathful the first time I had it happen but I have a powerful PC and I use the actual charging plug more times than oft. It sucked for anykind of dock though.
6. I have yet to figure out how to "theme" it. Maybe googling can help?

It's pretty much and overgrown iPod Touch. I use mine for eBooks, writing (I bought the Apple Word program) and movies. It's overpriced for what it does and the new slew of tablets beat it hands down.
