perpetual cycle of stuffy sinuses

Jun 27, 2012 08:00

Each morning I wake up feeling like I have come down with a cold.  Stuffy head, Dry throat, Coughing...

But within an hour, all clears, I feel great, sinuses clear, breathing deeply, etc.

I never feel the body ache I usually get with a cold, so I am a bit puzzled.  Anyone else feel this way ever?

Do you have a fan or an air conditioning vent that blows in the direction of your face? That's what happens to me when I sleep with a stream of air, even a slight one, at my face all night.

You might also be experiencing an allergic reaction to something. If you haven't replaced your pillows and/or mattress in a while, they harbor dust mites that could be getting to you over time.

Good point! It started on the trip.  I was sleeping with a different pillow every night (I am such a pillow whore).  If one had this problem, how long before it goes away?

Hmm, if it started on the trip it would ease once the trigger was gone if it was allergies, to my knowledge.

It could be as simple as a mild sinus infection with your immune system being run down from jet lag, unfamiliar surroundings and too much fun and lying down causing congestion issues.
