Such a mixed feeling on all the fund seeking posts i get emailed or see on FB.  I understand launching a product (book, game, movie, etc.) And offering perks to investors.  I tried to run one based on me launching a theatrical production, basically offering advanced tickets.  But lately i am seeing much more "i've always wanted to go to France,

Sometimes I think it's easier for people to dream with someone than to do something altruistic, even if the end cost is the same.

They may think, "I'd love to go to NYC, too! Sounds great. Here's $10." versus, "No one helps me when my car breaks! That's my $10."

The whole crowd funding thing is really strange. Who knew there was that strange corner lurking in human psychology.
