Joe takes a moment to consider his face, maybe older-looking than he really is, the kind and tired eyes, the slight smile.

I like that description of Cuddyer. Fits him to a T.

I enjoy your Mauer POV, like a lot. It's unique. I like that he's a little fussy about cursing. And this: His words feel juvenile right now, but he weirdly doesn’t mind. That just seems so him.

Yeah, having Mauer be fussy, and that one description of Cuddyer, was pretty much the only thing about this fic that I liked (other than ~EVIL EMPIRE DOMINANCE~ obviously). Thank you! And I'm glad you didn't mind. :D

Ooh, I loved this, it's the tone and feel of the end of baseball season, all the bruises and hurt and aches and sense of loss, but in the end that bond and camaraderie that is unbreakable between these boys whose sport forces them to share each other's lives so closely ;_; Very well done!!

Thanks! I'm not a Twins fan either, but I do like Mauer, and Cuddyer needs more love, and I always enjoy writing about teams losing soul-crushing games to the Yankees. :D

This was lovely. Mauer alternating between hope and desperation and finding Cuddyer there with him. Sad but touching. Cuddyer definitely seems like the kind of guy who will make it easier on Joe 'cause he's so sweet.
