What should I get for my birthday, an iPod or a 'pod knockoff like this Sansa thing? What do you have, and do you like it? The fakepods are sooo much cheaper, and they tend to come with a radio tuner, which I want... so I'm tempted in that direction. Luci has an I-pod Touch and it is pretty sweet. It is a wireless web browser for him in the evening too. He has a few games and when trips come, we load up kiddie movies for the girls to watch ( ... )

I have an ipod shuffle, and I don't really know if I like it or not because I don't use it very often. I don't like there there is no display of the songs, etc.

Buy the cheap one. I bet you'd like it just fine.

Happy Birthday! How old will you be tomorrow? If it's less than 25, just tell me 30. :)

I've owned several types of MP3 players over the years (made by Creative, iRiver, Apple, etc.) and they're so simple you really can't go wrong. Just make sure you don't need to run any special (e.g. annoying, buggy, intrusive) software to load music onto the player.

FYI, my favorite is my current player: 80 GB classic iPod. I bought it last December and can't live without it.

Well I have a Zen Stone Plus which is only 2GB but we found it on sale for just under $30 at Target.
