COSPLAY - SPIRITED AWAY post 02!
Yeah you know you want more of this... SO. ONWARD.
So Alita went home to watch Arashi and porn (not neccessarily in that order, and not neccessarily together either) while I worked on my baby a bit more before we were to meet up again a couple of months later. This was pretty much an on and off project for the past year, that and the fact that we took time off to do our Eva cosplay, which was supposed to be our first WCS costume but we EPIC FAILED. Anyway, the eyes...
You can pretty much see how I sewed the eyes from this photo, this was before I bought a new sewing machine so I was using my dad's 40 y.o Singer, which by the way, is a lasting brand. Better in my opinion than the Brother I later bought from Lincraft when they had a sale, maybe theres a reason they were on sale after all...
And for you curious peeps out there wanting to know how I made the eyes blink, its called thick fishing wire. And then an elastic on the inside to keep the eyes open if I don't blink them :D
The eyelids. Like the only part of the costume I was not fully satisfied with, as one side was larger than the other. So when he blinked he looked like he was having a stroke if I didnt pull the string hard enough. Alita reckoned no one noticed. I DID :(
Awesome scales, which I did not tell Alita of until AFTER I started them, because if I had she wouldve made me stop in the idea that I was wasting my time. Actually a lot of this costume was done without the consultation of the Marketing Department, I just let her find out the next time she came over to my house. That way I could get away with almost anything until it was TOO LATE >:D
The ears. One of the funner, simpler parts to do.
Now he can see! AND HEAR!
OH HAY SUP HAKU, LOOKING MIGHTY SPIFFY THERE IF I DONT SAY SO MYSELF :D
I swear we almost fogot this until the day before lol.
MANE. Which I fixed up later, looks really messy here.
And the next time Alita came over we had a mouth. And it was cool.
Then came the pinning of the scales and me using my artistic licence to bully Alita into doing things she didnt want to do but later was happy that she did.
So then I sewed them on, but they looked funny sticking out of the fur like that, which wasn't how I imagined it to look like...
So I picked the fur out to blend the scales in more. SUCCESS. Even if I am the only one to notice...
Meanwhile Alita was sewing on the mane and looking very derelique while doing it...
MEANWHILE I WAS BUSY BEING FULL OF WIN :DDDDDD
Alita was ready to finish here, but I was like NOES HE HAS NO TEEF.
Alita: I'm tired. I don't care.
Arleh: ...DO YOU WANT HIM TO GUM YOU TO DEATH???
Alita: *SIGH*
COMPLETE DESU. BEWARE THE HAKU DRAGON OF DOOOOM...
...AND HIS FLEAS *GNAWS ON SELF* XDDDDDD
HOKAI. So thats the ends of that epic escapade. We might post up actual photoshoot pictures later... if we get time to TAKE any pictures...
