For any and all who still read my fic, it is done.
But it is so dang long and multi-plot I have been over analyzing the tinest detail and making myself stupid.
melusin_79 my decade long beta has been so understanding. My fic has been one of her first WIPs that she has worked on, and she never EVER gave me crap about it

Coincidentally, I was contemplating just the other day about re-reading this particular fic since it's been a while since I'd read it.
Where will you be posting?
Also, many thanks to melusin_79 as well. Betas make all the difference in a fic.

Congratulations on completing Vain Wisdom - I know the thrill of putting that final period on the end of a long journey. I'm so happy for you! And Mel - well, I have so much respect for her as a writer, and I can imagine it must be wonderful to have her at your side completing this important work.
I completely understand what you mean about the influence of a exceptional beta. I am blessed with a wonderful editor as well, stgulik, and I cannot truly calculate just how much I owe her. I have always said that she taught me the value of a beta you can trust, because her first loyalty was not to me, but to the story and the characters.
She has never been afraid to tell me, "You can do better," and she is always right. When it came time to write my own novel, I begged her to step in and help. I wouldn't have been able to do it without her.
Sorry to blather so much - but just wanted to give my congrats and thanks.

But seriously, even now I have never found another fic that has been written to weave in and out of multiple plots so seamlessly, intertwining and separating without ever losing the thread. It's pretty amazing.
(As you'll see right here, I surely can not do anything like that as I can barely keep to a single line of thought lol) So, today... I'm screwing around on the interweb and I have the thought "I haven't checked LJ in a long time; wonder what's going on there?" And then THIS post pops up! My fav fic, not only updating but finished??!!!? It was a meant to be web surfing moment. lol
So yeah, great work, can't wait to read and hang on every word once again. :)
(and PS - I know the years-long WIP all too well; maybe this will inspire me to finish my own. It's been 'done' in my head for years. ;) )

My fic has been "done" in my notebook for over a year now, but the transfer to computer and self edit is what took forever.
That and I had to reread the darn thing myself. There was so much I forgot and I dread the idea of dropping a plot line or conflicting drama.
Anywho, thank you soooo much for your amazing support! I never realize how much I enjoy compliments like yours until I get them!
