As a child I did not know how to behave. And to teach me they hit me with a stick. Somehow I think the hitting was more for themselves, than for me.

My mom's weapon of choice was a wooden spoon. I think mostly because I did violence-worthy bad deeds while she was cooking. Eric, Steve, Jamie and I were talking about hitting your kids just recently. It was hard because we were trying to rationalize if there's a time when it's ok and when it's not, but in the end it's really just not.
