[When the feed opens, you can see Cynthia and Garchomp standing side by side, in what appears to be the greenhouse - or what once was the greenhouse, considering there are big blocks of ice everywhere. It only takes one motion of her hand, though, and the Pokemon follows her unspoken command, casting a mild Flamethrower attack over the wannabe ( Read more... )

[ ... Oh. Those Pokémon are a bit weird - considering Ange has no idea what they are - but she won't question it.. she's seen stranger things here, after all. ]

It's not just the greenhouse either. That stuff is all over the place. I don't know if we can just blame it on this place being whimsical.

[Hey, hey, her Pokemon are totes cool, okay?]

Yes, I noticed that on my way here. But if it's not the scientists' doing, then what else could it be?

[ Wow Pokémon are so nineties. ... Wait, Ange is from the nineties too, I never said anything. ]

No clue. If it isn't the scientists, it could be this place's natural weather. It wouldn't be too strange with the whole other planet deal.

That's always a possibility, yes. Still, it's very strange the ice would find its way inside the greenhouse. I wonder if we need to get it checked...

Are the plants okay?

[Please do not light the plants on fire :(]

They should be, once they're out of the ice! Don't worry, I'm taking care of it!

[She's being careful, promise!]

None so far! I'm still halfway through the greenhouse, though.

What happened to the Greenhouse, Cynthia?

It's... frozen solid, actually. It's so strange...

How could that happen?
Is there anyone in the city that has powers like that?

Not that I know of. But that you've mentioned it, it's possible this might the result of a chip removal.

[Flandre's voice is...inordinately excited.]

There's ice everywhere because Cirno's here again!

[...close but no icicle, Flan.]

Not burning it, no, but I need to thaw out the plants or else they'll die.

Who is Cirno, by the way?

Cirno is an ice fairy!

[Also Flandre's biffle/girlfriend/otherwise special person.]

[...Conan has no words that fit the absurdity of this scene. What were those creatures? And why was this woman setting up the scene so that it seemed like they were creating fire? What was the purpose behind all this?]

What are you doing?

battledancing May 26 2011, 14:44:51 UTC
Helping out with defrosting the plants. All this ice is not good for them.

[Choosing to ignore the question of the strange animals for now.]

If that is your intention you're heating them up too quickly. Frost damage happens when the water inside the plants freezes and damages the cell walls. But the majority of the damage happens when heat is first applied and the plant defrosts too quickly, such as on a sunny morning after a hard freeze. Common methods include shading the plants from the sun, dipping them in cold water or building small fires with damp wood that will fill the area with smoke and steam.

[... okay, Cynthia is too polite to roll her eyes at him. BUT THE INTENTION IS PRESENT.]

I know that. But this isn't a regular frost, or else it would have affected all of Discedo as opposed to select parts of it. It might be the work of someone, in fact.
