Well, I met another one...

Well, I met another person who thinks the military is a bad choice.

Well, I got to my deep thinking again about why I want to do it, and I've finally found a way to say it.

I'm not going to tell you that I'm not afraid of death, because I am. I will tell you, however, that I will not be afraid to fight anymore. I would rather die fighting for ( Read more... )

yeah, i know what that feels like. my parents dont know why i want to do it, and i know they wouldnt understand if i explained to them, they still think theres more money in commercial flight (if by more money they mean more money spent on training) and you cant exactly go down to your local naval base and jump on a Carrier and be like "so i wanna fly the Harrier today!" i know ya cant in the marines either, but still... ya know what i meant... glad to see there are people out there with the same reasoning as me.

i really am amazed by you and ben both, and proud, to be honest. i really wish there were more guys (and girls, i suppose) out there like you, because you give our country something tangible to believe in. It's very difficult for people to "bash the military" when you personally know someone who is in it and constantly putting their life in danger for the good of the country and its citizens.

just think ... when you're 80 you get to sit in the back of some fancy sports car and wave at the applauding people as you drive down the memorial day parade in your local town. lol ... 80-year-old don ... ehem, anyway

very well spoken, don. that is the best way i've ever heard the military frame of mind explained. i agree mostly, but i'm always happy to see someone who knows exactly what they want out of life, and how they can fulfill their goals the best. that is something really something to be proud of, and i look up to your strong resolve.

Well, besides the fact that my mother wants me to completely ignore my option of going to the USAFA, that hits it about right.

But it doesn't mean it didn't crack me up that your example was Jenny, ^_^
