After carrying on a fairly extensive conversation with Beth Gale before class in french, (which i wouldn't have had the confidence to do without the practice of me and katherine's new weekly french phone conversations. Brock, don't beat yourself up over this. I've felt the same way at times. of course, I gave up on the idea of speaking another language last semester.

after you study abroad, youll be fluent. until then, don't worry about it. itll come super easy once you have to use it in real life. but that said, i love talking to you in french, so lets not stop.

i agree with katherine. it is hard to be fluent in a language when you are constantly surrounded by a different one. it is good to have a conversation partner, though. sexy susan used to be conversation partners for people learning english, i think.

And you should have taken a sensible language like German. =) Or Arabic, which I'm considering taking at some point in my college career.
