This is not a for sure thing yet. But the medications still aren't working. SO, let's say that you had to choose between giving home-enemas to your cat every two or three days for possibly (but not definitely) the rest of his life OR getting a surgery done on him to widen his pelvis which has, let's say, an 80% chance of working ( Read more... )

Cat insurance <-- I wish! Luckily, I have very good friends and family who have offered to help.... sort of an ad hoc insurance policy. So, money is not too big of a concern, though of course it can never entirely leave the picture.

Spooky is very young, less than a year old. I am leaning towards the surgery option at present, but I need to talk much more extensively with the vets.

hmm, id probably wait a little while until he was recovered from his hip, doing the enemas for a while and saving up, then do the surgery.

Presuming he still needed it at that point.
