Author's notes: I developed this idea with 22by7 way back before the start of season 5, originally for another challenge. I ended up going with a different idea for that challenge and decided to write this one for the Mini Bang, thinking I could execute it in something less than 20,000 words. Clearly this did not happen. Still, I'm glad I finally got to use this idea.
