Friday, January 22 (Punta Arenas, Chile)
After seemingly forever at sea, we arrived in Punta Arenas, Chile early this morning. It's the first sign of human civilization we've seen since leaving Puerto Montt. Thursday, January 21 (At Sea - Games 9-11)
Upon waking, I finished watching the season finale of Lost. Now we're ready to go for Season 6, which starts on February 2, shortly after we get home. Our 2nd consecutive day at sea means 3 more games of Scrabble:

Wednesday, January 20 (At Sea - Games 6-8)
Remarkably, we woke up without an alarm in time for the 1 vs. 100 group DVD game at 9:30 a.m. Turnout was very small, which seems to be par for the course based on what we've seen so far of the organized activities. The age demographics on the cruise are quite old, which probably accounts for that.

Tuesday, January 19 (Puerto Montt, Chile)
The ship docked in Puerto Montt, Chile around 9 a.m. Having acted too late to book an excursion through Celebrity before they filled up, we were on our own. In true form, we slept in. I got up at about 1:30 p.m., and Shelley awoke to the sure-fire "tickle alarm" at 2:30 p.m.

It was the first day of the 22-game Scrabble tournament. For a cruise-based tournament, there's quite a deep field in the top division , allowing us to have a 12-player top division where only one player is rated under 1500. Somehow, my BlackBerry alarm got set for low volume, and Shelley and I both slept through the 6:15 alarm. When I miraculously awoke on my own, it was 7:43, and we had 17 minutes to be down at the lobby ready to leave in the tour bus! Shelley hadn’t even packed the night before.
