I will go out and look at the moon tonight. I know that the moon festival is celebrated in many many homes here in Brooklyn.

It is summery here too, although I can feel the fall coming on. The air smells different, even here in the city.

Have a wonderful time, eat a mooncake for me!

Thank you! The clouds cleared away, the moon shine forth, and there were fireworks on the nearby bank of the Pearl River. The lotus seed moon cakes were homemade by one of the fellow guests. We are nibbling pomelo (like a drier, more mild form of grapefruit), and sipping very sweet Western white wine brought by another guest. The other eight people at the table are discussing philosophy and culture in Mandarin. Most of it is beyond my depth, but snatches of meaning drift by like flotsam. I am half-listening, not required to contribute to the conversation, and *blush* daydreaming about Archie.

Good for you for being up to see it! We watched the moon until it was high in the then-beautifully clear night sky and then cycled home past midnight and slept in late.
