Quite agree. I bet the sailors would have just loved modern shopping and refrig-- so maybe we are even in some way...

Today I had lunch with some voice recording buddies. We've all known each other for about 13 years. Over the years some of us have done commercials, CDs, TV English teaching shows, and even a movie together. One is leaving. Another I haven't seen for about a decade. He's from New York. He says wadah for water and cawfee for coffee, even when he's speaking Standard American with us. He does a Brooklyn accent if you ask him to. I was thinking about you and your daughter's accent.
